Earlier in the season, Yarmouth had barely beaten the Kings 1-0, so they were hoping to get out to a quick start. Sure enough, that’s what they did. Early in the first period, sophomore, Isaac Grondin scored on a power play with assists from Spencer King and Cam Miller. A few minutes later, Defenseman Cam Miller added an even-strength goal with a shot from the point, assisted by senior, Jacob Veilleux. The Clippers were up 2-0 and feeling comfortable with their lead. Shots on goal for the period were Yarmouth 9, P/L/OH/GNG 4.

The second period began with another goal scored within the first 5 minutes. Cam Miller, once again, made the most of a wrist shot from the point and scored his second, even-strength goal of the night. This time, assisted by Isaac Grondin and Matthew Robichaud. As the Clippers added another to the board they concentrated on their defense, rolling three lines and working on their systems play. Oddly enough, the Kings found a way to score off of a weird deflection with a little more than 2 minutes to play in the period. The score was 3-1. Yarmouth recognized that this game was not over yet, so they made a point to re-engage their offense. With 25 seconds remaining in the 2nd and the Clippers on the power play, senior defenseman Spencer King made the pass to forward, Isaac Grondin who took the side shot on net only to have the rebound land on the stick of Cam Miller. Being Cam’s night, he did what he had done twice already and found the back of the net. An impressive hat trick for #20! Yarmouth was up 4-1. Shots for Yarmouth were 9, P/L/OH/GNG 5.

As the puck dropped for the third period, Yarmouth returned to their defensive approach to the game. Shots were limited to 6 for the Clippers and 2 for the Kings. No goals were allowed by either team. The final score was 4-1, Yarmouth.

With the final heal points calculated, Yarmouth stayed in third place in the Class B Southern Division. They will host 6th place, Cape Elizabeth on Tuesday (2/25) at 7:15pm at Travis Roy Arena.
