Just 8 minutes into the first period Sophie Newburg put one in from the point on a power play with assists from Paige Rinaldi and Olivia Bradford. Just 2 minutes later, Mt Ararat caught the Clippers on a change, broke in alone and tied it up 1-1. At the end of the first, shots favored MTA 10-4. Clipper Goalie Allie Perrotta was turning away everything.
A scoreless second also favored MTA with 12-6 in shots on goal, and, as usual, Perrotta was there to close the door. In the locker between periods the team was chatting about staying composed and were all in agreement to get more shots. The Clippers answered in the third out shooting the Eagles 11-3.
The OT period was all Clippers playing a dump and chase game keeping the puck in the Eagles zone. Then at 4:27 in OT Olivia Bradford gets going and shoots through two defenders, goalie makes a save but Liv gets the rebound and puts it in the back of the net. Yarmouth/Freeport wins 2-1!
