Yarmouth Drops Two Games

The Clippers finished out their regular season schedule with a 7-1 loss to Cape Elizabeth and 6-1 loss to Greely.  However, key wins and ties against Class A opponents secured a playoff spot, which will result in a rematch against Cape on Wednesday, February 27th at Portland Ice Arena.  Game time is 4:30 pm.  In the playoffs, the Clippers will have one of the best goaltenders in the Maine high school hockey, which is a great advantage, but they will need to get back to playing disciplined hockey if they want to advance.

In the Cape contest, Kurt Heywood ’19 picked up Yarmouth’s lone tally with an assist from Will Giese ’20, and also scored the Clippers’ only goal against Greely with assists from Will Giese  and Matt Sanborn ’19.  Heywood’s goals in both games were on the power play.
