A passive first period by the Clippers led to an early four-goal deficit and a 6-3 loss to York. The loss drops the Clippers to a 2-1 record as they host Greely this Tuesday at Travis Roy Arena. Game time is 4:50 pm.
After one period, York took a 4-0 lead into the locker room and further extended the lead to 6-0 with two second period goals. Yarmouth finally began to engage physically and got on the board when Sam Marjerison ’19 one-timed a nice pass from Will Giese ’20. Kurt Heywood ’19 was credited with the secondary assist.

With a strong individual effort, Michael Guertler ’19 (Giese, Marjerison) bounced a shot off the York net-minder’s back to make the score 6-2. Guertler also picked up his second goal in the closing seconds when he kept fighting for a loose puck despite the score.

Charles Henry Watson ’22 continued his strong play in net and the Clippers will need to play with a more urgency and physicality as they face the better teams in their conference.
