Yarmouth played two periods of thoroughly forgettable hockey against a struggling Gardiner squad, but were able to pull it together in the third period to emerge with a 3-2 win.
Gardiner started fast and scored the opening goal at 11:50 of the first period. The Clippers played poorly in the first two periods and Gardiner’s 1-0 lead held up through the second intermission.

Dom Morrill ’18 got Yarmouth on the board with an unassisted tally 58 seconds into the final period, but Gardiner took the lead with 6:25 remaining in the contest and the Clippers looked to be in trouble. However, just over 30 seconds later, Cooper May ’18 (Morrill) evened the score on a nice shot from the top of the circle.

Late in the third period, Yarmouth had numerous opportunities, but could not find the back of the net until John Decker ’18 buried a rebound off Morrill’s shot for the game-winner with 1:59 remaining in the game. Cooper May was credited with the secondary assist.

Dan Latham ’18 made 26 saves on 28 shots and Spencer King ’20 played a solid game on defense. The Clippers are heading into the heart of their schedule as they will take on Greely, St. Dom’s, Brunswick and Cape in their next four games.
