Clippers Pull Out OT Win

Due to a weather reschedule, the Clippers faced their second game in a 24-hour period, which would also be their second overtime game in that same 24-hour period.  Although Waterville lost almost their entire State Championship squad to graduation and was forced to combine with Winslow, the newly-formed Kennebec Riverhawks came into the contest holding second-place in Class B North.  For the Clippers, Matt Sanborn ’19 led the way with two power play tallies and Dom Morrill ’18 picked up the sudden-death winner.

From the opening face-off, Yarmouth looked tired and struggled throughout the game to capitalize on scoring opportunities.  Despite laggard play, Yarmouth drew first blood when Matt Sanborn ’19 scored a power play goal with an assist from Cooper May ’18,  However, the Riverhawks countered with an even-strength goal to tie the game.  The teams were tied after one period and remained tied after a scoreless second period.
