A slow start in the first period, and a series of penalties in the second period resulting in two Greely power-play goals gave the Greely Rangers a 4-2 victory over the Clippers. Yarmouth faces Cape Elizabeth in its final regular season game before the Class B South playoffs.

The Rangers came out flying from the opening face-off and Yarmouth was slow to respond. Greely scored just over 1:30 into the game on a 2-on-1 break in which Dan Latham was left with no help after making the save on the initial shot. But for the outstanding net-minding of Dan Latham, the score could have be far worse than 1-0 after one period.
In the second period, Yarmouth started to get going, but a five-minute major and two minor penalties led to an extended period of 5-on-3 hockey and Greely was able to register two power-play goals to extend the lead to three.

In the third period, Greely’s Ryan Megathlin added another power-play goal for a 4-0 lead. The Clippers finally showed some life late in the game when Cooper May capped a nice rush with an unassisted tally. Less than two minutes later, Bill Jacobs scored a power-play goal off a nice pass from Chris Romano, but it was too little, too late.
