Despite suffering a 6-3 playoff loss to Edward Little, the Yarmouth-Freeport Girls left an enduring legacy this season with their support of their teammate, Georgia Giese, and the American Cancer Society.

The girls dedicated their game against Lewiston to the memory of Jayne Giese and wore helmet stickers with Georgia Giese’s number. Not to be left out, the coaches also wore memorial hats for the game.

To date, the team has raised over $1,500 for cancer research and the donations are still coming in. The team would also like to recognize the generous contribution from the Lewiston High School girls team–a worthy and classy opponent.
Congratulations to the Yarmouth-Freeport Varsity Girls on successful and memorable season.
