The Varsity Girls picked up a big 4-2 win on the road against Biddeford. The Clippers jumped on the puck early and kept good offensive pressure on the Tigers, but had to be content with a single goal from Caroline Grant to end the period with a one-goal lead.
On the first shift of the second period, Katie Clemmer fired a well-placed shot to extend the lead to two. Caroline Grant was credited with the assist. Later in the second period, the Clippers fought off a Biddeford power play following a body checking penalty against Defenseman Sophie Newberg, but with the teams at even-strength, Biddeford was able to cut the lead in half.
Four minutes into the final period, the Clippers scored their first power play goal of the season. Clemmer, Sydney St. Pierre and Grant moved the puck well above the circles while Newberg and senior Kelsey Meyer created traffic down low. Newberg scored with an assist from Clemmer.
Throughout the third period, Kyaira Grondin, Sophie McGrath and Meyer cycled the puck well creating scoring opportunities, but it was Clemmer who picked up the final tally to end the game 4-2.
