The Varsity Girls bounced back from an opening night loss against Brunswick with a decisive 8-1 victory over Mt. Ararat/Morse at Travis Roy Arena. The victory was a complete team effort as the Clippers rolled four lines and five defensemen, and Goaltender Isabelle King picked up her first career victory. Captain Katie Clemmer registered a hat trick and picked up an assist on Freshman Sophie Newburg’s first Varsity goal.
Sophomore Paige Rinaldi and Freshman Caroline Grant (2 G,3 A) also registered their first high school goals, and Grant picked up her second goal of the evening with an excellent back checking effort that forced a turnover and led to the scoring opportunity. Senior Molly Wilson chipped in a goal and Sophomore Kyaira Grondin was credited with two assistants.
Olivia O’Halloran, Madi Dickinson, Sophie McGrath, Anna Parker and Violet Leith all logged significant ice time and showed great promise. The Clippers next game is this Saturday, December 3rd at Scarborough. Game time is 1:40 pm and the game will be played at the Colisee in Lewiston.
Box Score will be posted shortly.
