Yarmouth cruised to a 7-1 victory over Cape Elizabeth to begin the season with a 5-0 record.  Captain Patrick Grant and Tyler Veilleux each scored two goals to lead the offensive charge, and Dan Latham was solid in net to improve his league-leading  goals against average to 1.20 and his save percentage to .959 over five games.  Despite missing Junior Chris Romano and Sophomore Cooper May, the Clippers scored a season-high seven goals against a Cape team that came into the contest ranked third in Class B South.

Less than four minutes into the game, Cape Elizabeth took an early lead when a bad bounce led to a goal by Tim Corsello.  However, Yarmouth was quickly back in game when Tyler Veilleux poked home a loose puck in the slot for his first Varsity goal.

The teams went into the locker room tied, but in the second period, Veilleux did not wait long for his second Varsity goal as he fired a low shot off a nice pass from Grant for what would prove to be the game winner.

A few minutes later, Walter Conrad extended the lead to two with a nice rush and top corner shot, but the Clippers struggled in the second period as they took  far too many penalties.  Luckily, the penalty kill was up to the task as Cape was unable to convert any of its nine opportunities during the game.

In the third period, Yarmouth exploded for four goals to put the game out of reach.  Anders Newburg (Grant) and Bill Jacobs each posted a goal, and and Patrick Grant registered two tallies to seal the victory.

In their next contest, the Clippers face Scituate High School on December 26th at the Massachusetts Military Heroes Tournament held at the Middlesex School in Concord, Massachusetts.
