The Junior Varsity Boys dropped a close game against Portland/Deering by a 3-2 score. Portland took the early lead on an unassisted goal from Ben Haas, but a few minutes later, Emmett Herr evened the score with an assist from Reece Hall.
The teams opened the second period tied 1-1, but at 1:14 into the period, Portland took the lead on a goal by Walter Lewandowski. The Clippers did not waste time, and even the score 45 seconds later on a tally by Reece Hall with assists from Joe Coyne and Graden Caulfield.
The score was tied at the end of two periods, but 13 seconds in the third, Walter Lewandowski scored what would prove to be the game winner. In the closing minutes, Yarmouth had a number of chances, but could not find the back of the net.
Greg Kamra played a solid game in goal and made a number of tough saves. Although the team has not posted a win, they have played well in a number of close games and show great promise.
