Sophomore Dan Latham was outstanding in his first Varsity start as he made 28 saves to pick up the opening night win and 2-0 shutout. It was a night of firsts as Sophomore Joe Truesdale scored what would prove to be the game winning goal at 12:10 into his first Varsity game. Captain Walter Conrad was credited with the assist.
Latham’s task was not made easy as the Clippers were whistled for 12 minor penalties over the course of the game. However, Latham made a number of spectacular saves and his strong rebound control denied second chances to Gardiner’s power play unit.
On the power play, Billy Jacobs (Grondin, Grant) added an insurance goal with 4:33 left in the game to seal the victory.

NOTES: The Varsity Boys kicked off the 2015-16 without last year’s leading scorer, Cooper May, who is out with a knee injury. May was named to the Class B All-Rookie Team last year and is expected to return at the end of the month.
Yarmouth takes on Gorham on Tuesday, December 8th at 7:00 pm at Travis Roy Arena.
